Judge indicates that Blagojevich trial may happen by April 2010

A federal judge said Monday he would like ex-Gov. Rod Blagojevich to go on trial by April on corruption charges.

If that proves too ambitious, though, U.S. District Judge James Zagel said he wants the trial starting by July 2010 at the latest.

Rod Blagojevich could face trial on sweeping corruption charges in less than a year.

A federal judge said Monday that he would like to start the trial of the former governor as early as April 1, 2010 -- and definitely before July 2010.
