Jon Lester visits Furnace Brook Middle School in Marshfield, Mass. 

He usually calls the mound home, but Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester was front and center in a classroom at a Marshfield middle school on Tuesday.

He paid a visit to students at the Furnace Brook Middle School who really stepped up to the plate.

Furnace Brook Middle School in Marshfield raised more than $21,000 in the Jimmy Fund's Relay Against Cancer and was rewarded with a visit from Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester.

Furnace Brook raised more than any other school in the fundraiser, which benefits the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.
